Jim Harvey earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of Denver, a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and completed postdoctoral courses in Materials Engineering. His list of achievements includes over 100 articles and presentations, the issuance of over 15 patents, and numerous patents pending and trade secrets. Jim has served as both departmental director and professor at major universities and held staff and consulting positions in large, multinational corporations. A Teague Foundation and PCI grant recipient, he developed the polyisocyanurate foam insulation for the external tank of the NASA space shuttle as well as new epoxy and bismaleimides resin families. Currently Jim Harvey teaches at universities and community colleges in the Northwest and interacts with the private sector throughout the country. |
